Fun with Flourish
I’m still floored by all the tools Mike Reilley showed us. So many ideas are running through my mind. I’ve been playing around with Flourish and came up with this graphic.
I used this particular set of data because I teach in a rapidly growing school district. In fact, we will vote in August to build two more schools. My students write about growth often, so being able to show them how to do something like this will be incredibly helpful.
I was so excited about it, I’ve already texted a link to my students. Now they’re excited. And that makes it all worthwhile.

What this doesn't show: the #FirstAmendment, which runs around the edge of one sphere. Thank you to @KentState for embracing, supporting, and advocating for voice and freedom. The events of 50 years ago were tragic, but the legacy it created is inspiring. #CSJwksp19

This is a great idea and graphic. We were a two high school district forever. In a matter of a five-year span it increased to six. This would be a great way to show that growth. Thanks for sharing!

This will also be a way to illustrate a decline in enrollment that is happening in my school district in Illinois.
